Night joins Hammers Esports

October 5, 2018 11:50

Recently, Night announced his departure from Gankstars.

This might not but that surprising, considering that Gankstars were not able to find their proper form in the Summer Season.

Now, Night has teamed up with Hammers Esports, and there is a big chance he’s the one that the team needs in order to get that number one spot.

In the interview, we talk about the reasons why he decided to change the team and also the North American scene in general among other things.

Hopefully, you’ll enjoy this one!

You've just left Gankstars to join Hammers Esports.

Can you please tell us why you decided to part ways with the "strongest" Critical Ops team, especially after being able to win the first Critical OPS LAN event back in June?

The reason I left GS is very simple actually.

I just needed a change of pace, a change of scenery.

I did everything I could with GS and still love and respect the organization immensely!

However, it was just at a point where I had accomplished everything I wanted and I knew it was time to move on and set new goals with a new team.

Again, nothing but respect for GS, I wouldn't be here without them, and I can't wait to go up against them and their new lineup in the next tournament!

Looking back at the Critical Ops Summer Season, is there any particular reason why Gankstars couldn't play up to the level we're used to seeing them?

Looking back at the Summer Season I think GS didn't perform for a couple of reasons.

Mainly, we were going through an IGL switch, but also teams like HMRS and D2R were playing smarter than we had ever seen before, and we (GS) were not able to reciprocate that same level of play.

Now you are in Hammers Esports.

What do you think is going to be different here compared to your previous team and did you already play any of the practice matches with your new team?

Hammers is a VERY different team than GS.

I've been playing with them for maybe 3 weeks now and all I can say is that I'm in awe.

The level that these guys play at is just incredible and it all stems from the sheer work ethic they have.

I'm super excited to be a part of that and I'm really looking forward to making new connections with new teammates.

In your opinion, what is the main reason why Hammers Esports couldn't get the number one spot in the several recent tournaments?

In my opinion, Hammers couldn't get the number one spot in the several recent tournaments for a couple of reasons.

Mainly, they've been incredibly unlucky, losing by very close margins and very close rounds.

Also, they're just been playing teams that REFUSE to go down, especially when I was with GS I can remember quite a lot of times that we just sheer willpower our way to victory.

I hope that with this move to Hammers, I can bring some of that willpower and energy with me and we can win some tournaments together.

Would you say that D2R are the best team in the region right now?

Well to sum up my opinion on D2R, I feel like if they show up, there's not a single team who can stand up to them.

But there's a lot of turmoil and a lot of egos and I think that can really affect a team's performance, and if they let it affect them before/during game time I believe other teams can top them.

Do you think there is any team outside of the current top three that has the potential to maybe rise in the future and become a top contender?

In my opinion, I feel like there are many smaller teams out there that could one day enter the Big 3.

Teams like iF, RIOT, sGen all have POTENTIAL but they need to put in a LOT more time grinding this game and practicing to get to HMRS, GS, and D2R.

What are you looking to achieve with Hammers Esports in the next three-six months?

Not much can be said about what I'm looking to do with Hammers in the coming months.

We're here to win and I'm here to assist them in that goal to the best of my ability.

Is there something you wish to share with your fans?

I would like to say something to my fans.

I want to let everyone know that I really do appreciate all the support I get.

It means a lot to me to have people recognize me as my own person instead of GS Night for the rest of my career.

Lately, this has been one of the bigger roster moves.

We do wish Night and Hammers Esports the best of luck in the future.

Other teams should definitely look out for them!
