When asked to imagine an archetypical MOBA tank, a roller-skating fire mage is probably not the first thing that comes to mind.

That’s why Roxie, the latest Arena of Valor hero, is so refreshingly exciting.

Her toolkit offers both durability and mobility, making her an unconventional hero that is perfect for creative players who are looking for a challenging character to master.

Roxie’s passive - Fire Spirit - gives Roxie 1 point of ability power for each additional 50 points of max HP.

This passive is, of course, a perfect fit for a tanky mage, as building defensive items also makes her more powerful in combat.

Additionally, the passive empowers her every 3rd basic attack, making it restore 8% of her total mana and apply a mark on the enemy she is attacking.

The mark makes subsequent attacks against the marked foe restore mana for 5 seconds.

Since Roxie’s toolkit is extremely mana-intensive, utilize her mark to sustain her mana pool.

Wild Fire is Roxie’s first ability; it imbues her rollerblades with fire, passively draining mana as the effect is active.

While the effect is active, Roxie leaves a trail of fire which deals AP damage to enemies.

The trail lasts for 2.5 seconds.

Wild Fire is the bread and butter of Roxie’s toolkit as it is her primary source of damage.

It is also an ability which allows players to highlight their mechanical prowess with the hero.

Well-planned movement is essential to squeezing out the most damage out of this ability.

Roxie gains a fiery shield which absorbs damage and gives her 20% increased movement speed.

The usage of this ability seems deceptively straightforward, but if you want to make the most out of Blazing Shield, keep in mind its secondary effect which slows any enemies by 50% for 1.5s.

Isn’t it annoying when enemies try to get away from you?

Well, you can make them get over here with Agnie’s Grasp.

Her fiery companion, Agnie, reaches out with his claw and grabs an enemy for 2.5 seconds, immobilizing them and dragging them wherever Agnie goes.

The best way to use this ability is to start favorable teamfights; when you notice a vulnerable enemy straying a bit too far from their team, pull them in close and allow your allies to do the rest.

Roxie is the ideal hero to pilot during these scorching summer days.

She is on fire - literally - but also figuratively, as her uniquely potent toolkit should make the enemy team tremble with fear.

Scorch the earth behind you and set ablaze your enemies with Roxie, the Adventurer.
