Impreza as a team has been taking part in Valiance Critical Ops events for quite some time now.
In the Summer Season, they have made their way up to the Semi-Finals, where they eventually lost to D2R.
Now, they’re in a process of forming a lineup which is going to represent the team in the Critical Ops Autumn Invitational.
The man in charge of the team is once again “Vulcan”.
In the interview, we ask him a couple of questions regarding the roster and the upcoming season among other things.
You are one of the directly invited teams to the Autumn Invitational.
Can you please tell us your current lineup, the roles of the players in the team and the changes you've done compared to the Summer Season?
Right now we're still figuring out our roster so that is a work in progress.
We have a lot of players on trials, so we're still deciding who our main five should be.
So we are in a huge crunch.
In the Summer Season Semi-Finals, you didn't show much against D2R, as you lost both of the maps quite convincingly.
Can you tell us what happened here?
There was no trust among the team, to play at a high level all teammates have to trust each other.
I was moved to an entry fragger role almost right before the game.
When the game started the team were all very quiet and making crucial mistakes.
What does it mean for you to be considered as one of the top 4 teams right now in North America?
It feels good.
We work for what we get and this is just one of them.
We want to be known as a top 1 team, top 4 is fine.
But the goal is top 1, we never settle for less.
It will be hard to prove ourselves but I know we can pull it off.
Not so long ago, we've seen Gankstars withdraw from Critical Ops.
Do you think this is a big hit for the region and how do you think this is going to affect the teams overall?
It hurts the pro scene a lot.
Organizations might not want to come to Critical Ops because it wouldn't be financially smart.
Why pick up a team where you get a small percentage of the money won?
It is not enough to sustain an organization and that is why it hurts the scene so much.
This time, there is no Group Stage and everything is being played in a best of three single elimination format.
Would you say this is better than playing the regular Group Stage phase?
It is much better for the scene.
It for sure makes the stakes much higher and will even generate really good content for Valiance with clutch plays and really good tactics.
I am stoked to see how it turns out.
Who do you consider as the biggest threat in North America right now?
They look really nice at the moment.
Especially "Akjon", "Milio" that have all been showing up in the past.
I feel they are really going to show up.
They are all super talented and if they play it right then they can end up going far this season.
What result would satisfy you at the end of the Autumn Invitational?
Simple as that, why play if you want to be something less than first place?
It doesn't make sense to me how some people can be okay with something other than first place.
Is there something you want to say to your fans?
Spam #REZAWIN in the chat!
We appreciate all our fans deeply.
We love the support we get and on the behalf of the Impreza team and we want to thank you all for the love!
Hopefully, we wish to show up for all of them because they deserve it.
It’s not going to be easy for Impreza, as they’re going to meet either D2R or Hammers Esports in the Quarterfinals.
We do hope that will form the strongest lineup possible and try their best to beat the favorites.
